KAMOI Big Boss is a high-quality masking tape from the Japanese manufacturer KAMOI. This tape features excellent adhesive strength, full polishability, and is residue-free. Why Mask While Polishing?

Anyone working with paint defect corrections through polishing quickly recognizes the need to protect plastics, seals, and gaps. For many enthusiasts, the search for masking tapes often starts at their local hardware store. However, painter's tapes are unsuitable for polishing as they are often rough and not designed for the demands of polishing. From the beginning, we have offered specialized masking tapes for polishing and other automotive care disciplines. Popular masking tapes include the 3M™ Scotch Tape 3434, the HPX 4400 Fine Line, and the newer Elitist Performance Tape.

KAMOI Kabuki-S and Big Boss Masking Tapes from Japan: The Best Choice for Protection While Polishing

In selecting our product range, we rely on the expertise of the best detailers, with whom we maintain good, friendly connections. It was shown to us that while the mentioned masking tapes are good, they still do not reach the level of the "best detailing masking tape." The combination of adhesive strength, polishability - without lifting the edges and transferring adhesive to the polishing pad - and tear resistance remains unmatched. KAMOI Kabuki-S from Japan was presented to us as the benchmark.

Since we already had three manufacturers of masking tape in our program and typically make product decisions through our own testing and evaluation processes, we delved deeply into KAMOI masking tapes. KAMOI tapes have 18 meters per roll and due to their small core size are substantially smaller than other masking tapes. This is a considerable advantage when working indoors or masking small areas like emblems and logos. The strength combined with flexibility is impressive; the Kabuki-S tape is almost rubbery and very easy to navigate around curves and corners. In tests with flour and activated charcoal - you read that right - we found no significant adhesive residues upon removal with either the Kabuki-S or the slightly cheaper Big Boss. In summary, we can confirm: KAMOI masking tapes are the gold standard!

From Japan? It must be expensive!

As an official partner of KAMOI, we import the tapes directly from Japan and sell them in their original sealed packaging with up to 20 rolls. With the DETAILER Set, we offer all available sizes in a sampler set. Based on the price per meter, we are aligned with other masking tapes. The slightly more affordable KAMOI Big Boss offers a second color in pink. The Big Boss features slightly stronger adhesive performance and less flexibility. KAMOI Kabuki-S and Big Boss are approved for paint drying at 100 degrees Celsius for up to 30 minutes, which is why they are the most popular tapes among paint shops in Japan.
