HDO stands for "Heavy Duty Orbital," indicating that this technology is primarily designed for modern dual-action and forced rotation polishers.

Adding to this, Lake Country provides the CCS technology, which stands for Collapsed Cell Structure. The CCS surface is equipped with small pockets, which possess closed cell structure in their interior through a special process, even though the foam of the pad itself is open-pored. This property allows for more economical use of polish with CCS pads. The polish penetrates into the pocket but not into the polishing pad itself, allowing for significantly longer processing time. At the same time, the cell structure is better cooled, and the pad cannot dry out due to drying polish. With the new HDO CCS pads, both technologies are available in one pad series. The US manufacturer surprises the market with pads being produced at the same price level as "regular" HDO pads.

Starting from 130mm, the Lake Country HDO CCS pads feature a heat-dissipating center chamber along with a milling hole for further cooling and precise positioning. The Lake Country HDO CCS pads are 30-40% more expensive than the newer Lake Country SDO pads; however, this price difference is justified, especially when using forced oscillators like the Flex XCE 10-8 or the Rupes LK900e Mille.
