The wash buckets for hand washing vehicles are associated with the US manufacturer Grit Guard Inc., but the invention by Grit Guard is not the wash bucket itself, but rather the company’s namesake grit guard, which prevents the stirring up of dirt particles and thus allows for a scratch-free hand wash. Grit Guard® wash bucket inserts are designed to fit standardized US wash buckets and are therefore compatible with the new buckets from Magic Bucket.

The Magic Bucket is not a completely newly developed wash bucket. It resembles the US wash buckets produced by many manufacturers worldwide for decades. Due to the COVID crisis, there have been logistical issues in sourcing large-scale imported goods. With Magic Bucket, we have found a new European manufacturer that addresses this issue and produces high-quality wash buckets with a broad color palette for us. Accessories from Grit Guard and Detail Guardz sold by us fit perfectly with these wash buckets. 3.5 and 5-gallon wash buckets are available in many attractive colors directly from stock.

3.5 or 5 Gallons: Which size of wash bucket is recommended?

When deciding on the right size of wash bucket, many factors must be considered. Vehicle size, type of wash method, frequency of car washes, and ultimately the space in the car or trunk should be taken into account. Therefore, we cannot provide a fixed recommendation or rule for this question. If you wash your car at a self-service wash, you should choose a size that fits in the trunk. We recommend preparing the shampoo water at home or in your garage and sealing the wash bucket with a lid for the drive to the wash.
