The original Petzoldt's MAGIC-Clean clay bar® is a well-established term in modern car care for the gentle cleaning of paint surfaces before polishing or waxing. To get straight to the point, we always recommend performing at least one polishing step with a medium polish after using the clay bar. With the MAGIC-Clean clay, you can remove paint mist, color mist, industrial deposits, rust particles, dried tree sap, insect residue, tar, and deposits from acid rain, hard water stains, brake dust, and iron particles.

Optimized Polishing Results through Deep Cleaning Before Polishing

For a perfect polishing result, it is essential to thoroughly pre-clean the paint. Deep cleaning is safely achievable using MAGIC-Clean clay in combination with a paint cleaner that provides good cleaning performance and gliding properties. For Petzoldt's clay bar, we recommend the Paint Gloss cleaner by P&S, Optimum No Rinse wash & shine, or CarPro Ech2O. Conventional cleaners or car shampoos are unsuitable as paint cleaners in combination with clay, as they can leave a film on the surface.
